It was a revelation, actually getting to chat with other Pok&#xE9;mon and teaming up with them as opposed to just using them in battle. </p><figure class="kg-card kg-image-card kg-card-hascaption"><img src="https://retrododo.com/content/images/2025/12/echoes-of-yesterday-gameplay-1.jpg" class="kg-image" alt="New Pok&#xE9;mon Super Mystery Dungeon Story Hack &apos;Echoes Of Yesterday&apos; Is Out Now" loading="lazy" width="955" height="719" srcset="https://retrododo.com/content/images/size/w600/2025/12/echoes-of-yesterday-gameplay-1.jpg 600w, https://retrododo.com/content/images/2025/12/echoes-of-yesterday-gameplay-1.jpg 955w" sizes="(min-width: 720px) 720px"><figcaption><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">Credit: Pok&#xE9;mon/noodleniiue</span></figcaption></figure><p>I remember playing Explorers of Sky on my DS and immersing myself in this alternative Pok&#xE9;mon adventure just like I did with the <a href="https://retrododo.com/best-gameboy-color-games/" rel="noreferrer">Pok&#xE9;mon Trading Card game</a> on the Game Boy Color, and now there&apos;s a new ROM hack that changes the story up to provide a brand new adventure for fans to enjoy. It&apos;s a remarkable piece of retro tech.</p><p>To make this device even crazier, Palmer Luckey, the CEO of ModRetro (who also founded Anduril, a weapons and drone manufacturer in the USA) has decided to create a limited edition Chromatic made of the same metal used in Anduril&apos;s aerial attack drones.</p><figure class="kg-card kg-image-card kg-card-hascaption"><img src="https://retrododo.com/content/images/2025/12/2025-Chromatic-Sand-1-1x1.webp" class="kg-image" alt="ModRetro Reveals Limited Edition Handheld Made From Attack Drone Metal" loading="lazy" width="990" height="990" srcset="https://retrododo.com/content/images/size/w600/2025/12/2025-Chromatic-Sand-1-1x1.webp 600w, https://retrododo.com/content/images/2025/12/2025-Chromatic-Sand-1-1x1.webp 990w" sizes="(min-width: 720px) 720px"><figcaption><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">Image credit: ModRetro</span></figcaption></figure><p>This is unlike anything we&apos;ve seen before and will likely feel like no other handheld that we have had our hands on.</p><p>It keeps the Chromatic style, which already feels like a GAME BOY Color on steroids, but uses ultra-durable ceramic-polymer that protects their autonomous air vehicle known as Ghost.</p><p>Titanium Nitride (a finish typically reserved for high-performance tooling) is also applied to each screw through vapour deposition.</p><div class="kg-card kg-header-card kg-v2 kg-width-regular " style="background-color: #000000;" data-background-color="#000000"> <div class="kg-header-card-content"> <div class="kg-header-card-text kg-align-center"> <h2 id="titanium-nitride-a-finish-typically-reserved-for-highperformance-tooling-is-also-applied-to-each-screw-through-vapour-deposition" class="kg-header-card-heading" style="color: #FFFFFF;" data-text-color="#FFFFFF"><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">Titanium Nitride (a finish typically reserved for high-performance tooling) is also applied to each screw through vapour deposition.</span></h2> <p id="-mod-retro" class="kg-header-card-subheading" style="color: #FFFFFF;" data-text-color="#FFFFFF"><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">- Mod Retro</span></p> </div> </div> </div><p>The shell itself is made from magnesium aluminium alloy, decorated with CNC grooving and paired with a sapphire screen cover that provides &quot;near diamond-hardness&quot;. This is likely the same display used in their more expensive Chromatic too.</p><p>All six sides of the device are fixtured and laser-etched on every single interaction point.&#xA0;They&apos;ve even chucked in an Anduril logo charm made from stainless steel 304 and protected with a PVD Titanium Nitride finish.</p><figure class="kg-card kg-image-card kg-card-hascaption"><img src="https://retrododo.com/content/images/2025/12/modretro-anduril-sides.webp" class="kg-image" alt="ModRetro Reveals Limited Edition Handheld Made From Attack Drone Metal" loading="lazy" width="1920" height="1080" srcset="https://retrododo.com/content/images/size/w600/2025/12/modretro-anduril-sides.webp 600w, https://retrododo.com/content/images/size/w1000/2025/12/modretro-anduril-sides.webp 1000w, https://retrododo.com/content/images/size/w1600/2025/12/modretro-anduril-sides.webp 1600w, https://retrododo.com/content/images/2025/12/modretro-anduril-sides.webp 1920w" sizes="(min-width: 720px) 720px"><figcaption><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">Image credit: ModRetro</span></figcaption></figure><p>ModRetro is selling this bundled with a pair of limited edition Koss Porta Pro headphones to keep the retro vibe, and are pricing it at &#xA3;349.99/$449.99.</p><p>Undoutedly a mighty price tag, and one that only enthusiasts of ModRetro and Andruil would acquire. After 25 years, Google has finally pulled the plug on support for the Dreamcast&apos;s web browser. Yes, I know that might have ruined your Christmas Day browsing plans, but there it is - the end of an era. </p><p>PlanetWeb 3.0 has finally fallen foul of the never-slowing path of progress. It doesn&apos;t have a place in a world of Teraflops and AI, and Google has unfortunately had to end support for the browser. </p><p>I know it&apos;s sad to think about retro tech being shunned in a modern world, especially when we grew up with it, but try explaining to TikTok-using teenagers about how the CD replaced the Tape or how you never used to be able to use the internet and your house phone at the same time, and they&apos;ll look at you like you&apos;ve just crawled out of a cave. </p><p>Still, hope is not completely lost. </p> <!--kg-card-begin: html--> <blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Sad news guys. After over 25 years of support, Google has finally discontinued support for Dreamcast web browsers. &#x2639;&#xFE0F; <a href="https://t.co/3FEKtNWtO1?ref=retrododo.com">pic.twitter.com/3FEKtNWtO1</a></p>&#x2014; Dreamcast Live (@dclivenet) <a href="https://twitter.com/dclivenet/status/2000321889970078120?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw&amp;ref=retrododo.com">December 14, 2025</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script> <!--kg-card-end: html--> <p>Have you heard of <a href="http://frogfind.de/?lg=en-us&amp;ref=retrododo.com">frogfind</a>? It&apos;s an alternative search engine created by YouTube&apos;s very own <a href="https://www.youtube.com/c/ActionRetro?ref=retrododo.com">Action Retro</a>, real name Sean, to combat this exact problem. Sean wanted to help older tech products that didn&apos;t fit into our fast-paced world still access the internet, converting as much of the internet as possible into simple websites that older machines could still read. </p><p>According to the FrogFind website, the search engine is basically a rewrapped and simplified version of DuckDuckGo that converts everything you search for into super basic HTML so that older machines can load it up. It was built for classic Macs, but FrogFind can work on any text-based browser, which means PlanetWeb 3.0 is out, and FrogFind is in!</p><p>Listen, just because you don&apos;t search for things on your Dreamcast doesn&apos;t mean that you shouldn&apos;t be able to. I bet you didn&apos;t realise that we needed a demake of <a href="https://retrododo.com/super-mario-bros-wonder-snes-could-be-the-best-demake-ive-ever-played/" rel="noreferrer">Super Mario Bros. Wonder</a> or a 4K version of the N64, but they&apos;re both amazing. That&apos;s what I love about the retro gaming community - they&apos;re the only ones keeping the past alive when the big companies have forgotten about their past achievements.</p><p>It&apos;s because of their efforts that we now have a playable version of <a href="https://retrododo.com/the-cancelled-resident-evil-game-boy-color-game-has-been-shared-online-98-complete/" rel="noreferrer">Resident Evil on the GBC</a>, and cancelled N64 games like <a href="https://retrododo.com/cancelled-n64-game-viewpoint-2064-has-appeared-online-fully-finished-playable/" rel="noreferrer">Viewpoint</a> being brought back from the brink for players to experience. </p><p>There we are; at least I got to finish this article on a high. Thanks to Sean&apos;s work with FrogFind, the Dreamcast can carry on thriving into 2026 and beyond! It&apos;s a Christmas miracle!</p><div style="display:none"><div class="kg-callout-emoji">&#x2764;&#xFE0F;</div><div class="kg-callout-text">Like what you are reading? That&apos;s why I love demakes, after all, but this was a task that HotGen studios were given back in 1999 to try and put the epic Zombie-culling marvel onto Nintendo&apos;s family-friendly portable handheld. </p><figure class="kg-card kg-image-card kg-card-hascaption"><img src="https://retrododo.com/content/images/2025/12/resi-evil-gbc-3-1.jpg" class="kg-image" alt="The Cancelled Resident Evil Game Boy Color Game Has Been Shared Online &apos;98% Complete&apos;" loading="lazy" width="1070" height="749" srcset="https://retrododo.com/content/images/size/w600/2025/12/resi-evil-gbc-3-1.jpg 600w, https://retrododo.com/content/images/size/w1000/2025/12/resi-evil-gbc-3-1.jpg 1000w, https://retrododo.com/content/images/2025/12/resi-evil-gbc-3-1.jpg 1070w" sizes="(min-width: 720px) 720px"><figcaption><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">Credit: Capcom/HotGen/Games That Weren&apos;t</span></figcaption></figure><p>You know how these things work - it was shown at E3 1999, then delays pushed it further back, and then people started getting cold feet about it and Capcom ultimately cancelled it. Or, as assistant programmer on the project Pete Firth explained that, alongside the unfortunate death of the lead artist on the project, the creator of Resident Evil (though we don&apos;t know whether he specifically meant Shinji Mikami or Tokuro Fujiwara) personally asked for the game to be cancelled because it didn&apos;t portray his creation properly. </p><p>Talk about a vote of no confidence!</p><figure class="kg-card kg-image-card kg-card-hascaption"><img src="https://retrododo.com/content/images/2025/12/resi-evil-gbc-2-1.jpg" class="kg-image" alt="The Cancelled Resident Evil Game Boy Color Game Has Been Shared Online &apos;98% Complete&apos;" loading="lazy" width="1076" height="873" srcset="https://retrododo.com/content/images/size/w600/2025/12/resi-evil-gbc-2-1.jpg 600w, https://retrododo.com/content/images/size/w1000/2025/12/resi-evil-gbc-2-1.jpg 1000w, https://retrododo.com/content/images/2025/12/resi-evil-gbc-2-1.jpg 1076w" sizes="(min-width: 720px) 720px"><figcaption><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">Credit: Capcom/HotGen/Games That Weren&apos;t</span></figcaption></figure><p>I can&apos;t begin to imagine how tough it must have been to fit that entire game onto a 2MB cartridge (probably a little like trying to put Hogwarts Legacy on a Nintendo Switch cartridge, in all honesty!). I know the Game Boy Color eventually got Resident Evil Gaiden, but that looks wholly like a GBC title, not a descaled PS1 game. </p><p>Still, despite the odds, HotGen actually managed to create an 8-bit Resident Evil that you could play and feel like you were looking at an incredibly retro version of the PS1 and Saturn title. It&apos;s not like you look at it and think &apos;this is a simplified version&apos; like Donkey Kong Land and Donkey Kong Country - the original locations, puzzles, angles and narrative remain the same, albeit with sprites that have been scaled down to work with the limitations of the GBC. </p><figure class="kg-card kg-image-card kg-card-hascaption"><img src="https://retrododo.com/content/images/2025/12/resi-evil-gbc-1-1.jpg" class="kg-image" alt="The Cancelled Resident Evil Game Boy Color Game Has Been Shared Online &apos;98% Complete&apos;" loading="lazy" width="1079" height="922" srcset="https://retrododo.com/content/images/size/w600/2025/12/resi-evil-gbc-1-1.jpg 600w, https://retrododo.com/content/images/size/w1000/2025/12/resi-evil-gbc-1-1.jpg 1000w, https://retrododo.com/content/images/2025/12/resi-evil-gbc-1-1.jpg 1079w" sizes="(min-width: 720px) 720px"><figcaption><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">Credit: Capcom/HotGen/Games That Weren&apos;t</span></figcaption></figure><p>I say limitations - this port pushed the GBC to the limits, with scaled sprites that tried to recreate that same 3D feeling as the home console games. And now, thanks to <a href="https://www.gamesthatwerent.com/?ref=retrododo.com">Games That Weren&apos;t</a>, we finally have the most stable and finished example of the game that we&apos;ve ever had from the moment before it was cancelled. Pete Frith has said publicly that he believed it to be 98% finished due to the fact that there was a lot of back and forth with game testers, which meant that it would have been almost ready to go at the time of cancellation.</p><figure class="kg-card kg-image-card"><img src="https://retrododo.com/content/images/2025/12/resi-evil-gbc-5-1.jpg" class="kg-image" alt="The Cancelled Resident Evil Game Boy Color Game Has Been Shared Online &apos;98% Complete&apos;" loading="lazy" width="1076" height="752" srcset="https://retrododo.com/content/images/size/w600/2025/12/resi-evil-gbc-5-1.jpg 600w, https://retrododo.com/content/images/size/w1000/2025/12/resi-evil-gbc-5-1.jpg 1000w, https://retrododo.com/content/images/2025/12/resi-evil-gbc-5-1.jpg 1076w" sizes="(min-width: 720px) 720px"></figure><p>While Games That Weren&apos;t haven&apos;t actually played the game through to completion, they&apos;re pretty confident that this version is playable through to the end, or that the end can at least be reached, at any rate. <em>&apos;Crucially, we know that the Tyrant seems to be present at the end, </em>they write on their website,<em> &apos;and it&apos;s possible to trigger the end sequence compared to the earlier builds. 6. Scale Olympus As 8-Bit Kratos In This God Of War Demake

When we spoke to God of War creator David Jaffe on the Retro Dodo Podcast, it felt like reliving our teenage years. Getting to delve into the mind of the man who created Kratos and the God of War series was amazing, and we spoke about how the series has

Getting to delve into the mind of the man who created Kratos and the God of War series was amazing, and we spoke about how the series has progressed from the days of the PS2 and the future of the series as it goes forward from Ragnarok. One thing we didn&apos;t ask, however, was what the series might look like if it went backwards to older consoles, and if David had ever considered an 8-bit version of Kratos. </p><p>Thankfully, Holmade Games has answered this question for us and created Bit of War, an 8-bit game that pays homage to both the God of War series as a whole and the 8-bit era of consoles. </p><figure class="kg-card kg-embed-card"><iframe width="200" height="113" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/tcIe1rBG0Lc?start=466&amp;feature=oembed" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" referrerpolicy="strict-origin-when-cross-origin" allowfullscreen title="Bit of War Gameplay"></iframe></figure><p>Kratos usually looks like such a brute in the main God of War games, but here he looks a little more like Bonk from Bonk&apos;s Adventure, albeit with his ashen skin and trademark red markings. The game has the same kind of tower scaling that you would find in The Cyber Shinobi and level designs with shades of Alex Kidd, albeit with the Blades of Chaos firing at enemies left, right, and centre. </p><figure class="kg-card kg-image-card kg-card-hascaption"><img src="https://retrododo.com/content/images/2025/12/bit-of-war-2.jpg" class="kg-image" alt="Scale Olympus As 8-Bit Kratos In This God Of War Demake" loading="lazy" width="934" height="690" srcset="https://retrododo.com/content/images/size/w600/2025/12/bit-of-war-2.jpg 600w, https://retrododo.com/content/images/2025/12/bit-of-war-2.jpg 934w" sizes="(min-width: 720px) 720px"><figcaption><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">Credit: Holmade Games</span></figcaption></figure><p>You guys know I love demakes, and seeing a miniature Kratos jumping and tackling mummies and other evil cretins in simple levels that are almost clipart-esque at times takes all of the tension and vengeful mystique away from Kratos&apos; character, leaving you with a platformer that wouldn&apos;t have looked out of place on the NES back in the day. </p><figure class="kg-card kg-image-card kg-card-hascaption"><img src="https://retrododo.com/content/images/2025/12/battling-zeus-bit-of-war.jpg" class="kg-image" alt="Scale Olympus As 8-Bit Kratos In This God Of War Demake" loading="lazy" width="2000" height="1288" srcset="https://retrododo.com/content/images/size/w600/2025/12/battling-zeus-bit-of-war.jpg 600w, https://retrododo.com/content/images/size/w1000/2025/12/battling-zeus-bit-of-war.jpg 1000w, https://retrododo.com/content/images/size/w1600/2025/12/battling-zeus-bit-of-war.jpg 1600w, https://retrododo.com/content/images/2025/12/battling-zeus-bit-of-war.jpg 2220w" sizes="(min-width: 720px) 720px"><figcaption><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">Credit: Holmade Games</span></figcaption></figure><p>I&apos;m going to be honest, I never really thought about what God of War might be like as an 8-bit title until today, but it really works. I wouldn&apos;t go as far as to say it&apos;s cutesy, but I think fans of the original game will enjoy this retro reimagining of the God of War&apos;s antics and the simplistic nature of it. </p><p>Ok, it might not be as graphically enticing as seeing Jormundgander coming out of the water to talk with Mimir or as colourful as this <a href="https://retrododo.com/super-mario-bros-wonder-snes-could-be-the-best-demake-ive-ever-played/" rel="noreferrer">Super Mario Bros. I still think about the fact that I never got my copy of 40 Winks for the N64, and the threads of <a href="https://retrododo.com/cabbage-64dd-game/" rel="noreferrer">Cabbage</a> that I read about in Nintendo Official Magazine still haunt me to this day. </p><p>One Xbox fanatic obviously shares my passion for thinking about the games that &apos;could have been&apos;, after spending more than a year making a complete list of all of the games that should have released for the original Xbox back in the day, making a grand total of 630 games. Reddit user <a href="https://www.reddit.com/r/originalxbox/comments/1pnjxgd/15_years_of_research_630_games_and_ca_1500/?ref=retrododo.com">DJKaito</a> has scoured the internet to find every crumb of news or mention of a game that never made it to the shop shelves.</p><p>Writing on the Xbox Fandom Wiki page, DJKaito says that <em>&apos; Some games were released on other platforms, like PlayStation 2, GameCube or Wii, jumped ship to the Xbox 360/PlayStation 3 or went through development hell (Duke Nukem Forever or the recently released Captain Blood), and some games were just discovered because they popped up during my research of another game by the same developer or publisher (Paparazzi by Widescreen Games, a lot of games by Data Design Interactive or Scumbag Racing by Smart Bomb).&apos;</em></p><p>But what games could we have had that we&apos;ve missed out on? I mean, you&apos;re going to want to know if there&apos;s anything in there that would have been amazing, right? </p><p>How about a 3D Chrono Trigger remake, or Diddy Kong Racing Adventure? What about a remake of Banjo-Kazooie where the bird and bear were aware they were in a remake and started breaking the fourth wall, or a console version of Black and White? Honestly, the more I read this list, the more I&apos;m annoyed that none of these games came to fruition!</p><p>DJKaito has put some <a href="https://xbox.fandom.com/wiki/List_of_Cancelled_Xbox_games?ref=retrododo.com">serious effort into this list</a>, and I for one think they should be applauded for their hard work, especially considering they have referenced every outlet that they&apos;ve used to find out information about these games! Go and check out all of the titles and think about what could have been, I&apos;m going to sit here and be depressed that I never got to play that Banjo-Kazooie remake!</p><div style="display:none"><div class="kg-callout-emoji">&#x2764;&#xFE0F;</div><div class="kg-callout-text">Like what you are reading? Six years later, we&apos;ve finally got all three original games improved and revamped with new features and graphics. </p><p>Weirdly, the hacks have come out in reverse order, with TheSkipper1995 releasing Mega Man 3 Revamped back in 2019 and Mega Man 2 Revamped in 2022. Now, DoodleDangernoodle, who contributed their talents to working on the graphics for Mega Man 3 Revamped, has released Mega Man Revamped just in time for a Mega 38th Anniversary celebration across the globe!</p><p>The new revamped version of the game sees graphical enhancements to the levels and character sprites to bring them on a par with the Mega Man games that came out later in the series, as well as rebalancing the overall difficulty. Weapons like the Hyper Bomb and Rolling Cutter have new behaviours, and lag has been reduced for a much more enjoyable gaming experience. The score system has also been done away with, leaving a polished and more refined version of the original game for gamers to dive into while still keeping the essence of the original title intact. </p><p>Head over to the <a href="https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/9269/?ref=retrododo.com">official project page</a> for more information!</p><div style="display:none"><div class="kg-callout-emoji">&#x2764;&#xFE0F;</div><div class="kg-callout-text">Like what you are reading? For me, Pok&#xE9;mon games are top-down adventures like Pok&#xE9;mon Red, Gold, and Sapphire, and it&apos;s where the series peaked. I&apos;m not as into the likes of the Legends series, but that&apos;s just because I&apos;ve never really left the 90s and early 00s behind!</p><figure class="kg-card kg-image-card kg-card-hascaption"><img src="https://retrododo.com/content/images/2025/12/Pokemon-aesthetic-red-gameplay.jpg" class="kg-image" alt="New Pok&#xE9;mon ROM Hack &apos;Aesthetic Red&apos; Brings An Open World &amp; Visual Overhaul" loading="lazy" width="1280" height="720" srcset="https://retrododo.com/content/images/size/w600/2025/12/Pokemon-aesthetic-red-gameplay.jpg 600w, https://retrododo.com/content/images/size/w1000/2025/12/Pokemon-aesthetic-red-gameplay.jpg 1000w, https://retrododo.com/content/images/2025/12/Pokemon-aesthetic-red-gameplay.jpg 1280w" sizes="(min-width: 720px) 720px"><figcaption><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">Credit: The Pok&#xE9;mon Company/LibertyTwins</span></figcaption></figure><p>When it comes to ROM Hacks, Pok&#xE9;mon is one of the most adapted series of them all. Sometimes we get completely new games like <a href="https://retrododo.com/pokemon-unbound-review/" rel="noreferrer">Pok&#xE9;mon Unbound</a> or <a href="https://retrododo.com/pokemon-lazarus-cheat-codes/" rel="noreferrer">Pok&#xE9;mon Lazarus</a>, and sometimes we get hacks that improve current games with new features and graphics. Pok&#xE9;mon Aesthetic Red created by LibertyTwins is the latter, a hack that reinvents the Kanto journey of Fire Red with a complete visual and musical overhaul. </p> <!--kg-card-begin: html--> <blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Pok&#xE9;mon Aesthetic Red is out NOW! &#x1F534;&#x2728;&#xFE0F;<br>Features:<br>- Overhauled visuals and music<br>- All Gen 1 and 2 Pok&#xE9;mon available + related evolutions<br>- Increased difficulty + rebalancing<br>- 3 versions to pick from<br>- QOL<br>- More<br><br>&#x23EC;&#xFE0F; Check it out &#x23EC;&#xFE0F;<a href="https://t.co/Mv2EVQJQI0?ref=retrododo.com">https://t.co/Mv2EVQJQI0</a> <a href="https://t.co/jjWXuNOSZW?ref=retrododo.com">pic.twitter.com/jjWXuNOSZW</a></p>&#x2014; Pok&#xE9;mon Fangame News (@PokeFangameNews) <a href="https://twitter.com/PokeFangameNews/status/2000874529581588760?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw&amp;ref=retrododo.com">December 16, 2025</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script> <!--kg-card-end: html--> <p>Aesthetic Red gives Pok&#xE9;mon Fire Red a whole new vibrant look and a brand new soundtrack to boot, which is a mammoth task in itself. It&apos;s like having one of those globe drinks cabinets where you flip the lid and all of your bottles and glasses are hidden away inside. Between them, they&apos;ve made it their mission to bring back old consoles and titles, keeping classic machines and series alive for new generations. And now, they&apos;ve worked together to bring back the iconic Quickshot II Joystick that we all grew up with with some modern twists and quality of life features. </p><p>We&apos;ve all held a Quickshot at some point in our lives - it&apos;s an iconic controller that spanned consoles and provided pinpoint controls on some of the most iconic games of the &apos;80s and &apos;90s. In 2026, the joystick comes back as THEQUICKSHOT II, complete with a USB connection, an auto-fire switch, and much more. It&apos;s set to bring a familiar retro twist that ZX Spectrum, Atari, and C64 users remember to all of Retro Games Limited&apos;s machines. </p><figure class="kg-card kg-image-card kg-card-hascaption"><img src="https://retrododo.com/content/images/2025/12/THEQUICKSHOT2-IMAGES.jpg" class="kg-image" alt="The Iconic Quickshot II Joystick Returns In 2026" loading="lazy" width="1280" height="720" srcset="https://retrododo.com/content/images/size/w600/2025/12/THEQUICKSHOT2-IMAGES.jpg 600w, https://retrododo.com/content/images/size/w1000/2025/12/THEQUICKSHOT2-IMAGES.jpg 1000w, https://retrododo.com/content/images/2025/12/THEQUICKSHOT2-IMAGES.jpg 1280w" sizes="(min-width: 720px) 720px"><figcaption><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">Credit: Retro Games Limited/PLAION REPLAI</span></figcaption></figure><p>So what will 2026&apos;s answer to this iconic joystick look like? Well, THEQUICKSHOT II (RGL love their capitals, don&apos;t they!) comes with eight action/feature buttons, six function buttons, and two fire buttons. Essentially, you&apos;ll be able to use everything you would have on a normal gamepad on here while still having that arcade stick feeling. </p><p>The new and improved joystick comes with a floating ball-joint design for smoother gameplay and an &apos;all-microswitch construction&apos;, something that RGL have proudly innovated, to make sure every button or movement is accurate and responsive. </p><figure class="kg-card kg-image-card kg-card-hascaption"><img src="https://retrododo.com/content/images/2025/12/the-quickshot-II-logo.jpg" class="kg-image" alt="The Iconic Quickshot II Joystick Returns In 2026" loading="lazy" width="2000" height="2000" srcset="https://retrododo.com/content/images/size/w600/2025/12/the-quickshot-II-logo.jpg 600w, https://retrododo.com/content/images/size/w1000/2025/12/the-quickshot-II-logo.jpg 1000w, https://retrododo.com/content/images/size/w1600/2025/12/the-quickshot-II-logo.jpg 1600w, https://retrododo.com/content/images/2025/12/the-quickshot-II-logo.jpg 2048w" sizes="(min-width: 720px) 720px"><figcaption><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">Credit: Retro Games Limited/PLAION REPLAI</span></figcaption></figure><p>As with the original Quickshot II, the grip will be perfectly designed for your hand to make long gaming sessions more comfortable, as well as suction cups for the bottom to make sure it doesn&apos;t slip and slide around your table. Like the original controller, THEQUICKSHOT II will work with multiple systems both made by RGL and other famous brands, giving you a one-stop shop for arcade hijinks just like the good old days. </p><p>THEQUICKSHOT II is priced at &#xA3;29.99 and available to purchase from January 30th, 2026. Head to the <a href="https://retrogames.biz/products/thequickshot-ii/?ref=retrododo.com">Retro Games Limited website</a> for more information!</p><div style="display:none"><div class="kg-callout-emoji">&#x2764;&#xFE0F;</div><div class="kg-callout-text">Like what you are reading? At 596 pieces, it&apos;s not the most difficult design we&apos;ve covered, but with 31 points of articulation, it&apos;s definitely the perfect set to bring Clank to life.
